- Around the mouth (smoker’s lines, lipstick lines, fine lines)
- Frown lines (combined with Botox)
- Laugh lines
- Marionette lines
- Lips
- Corners of mouth
Belotero can also help fill in facial depressions caused by acne or injury, and plump contours in the cheeks and face.
How do hyaluronic acid fillers work?
Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the body. As we age, our body’s supply of it begins to decrease, causing skin to lose elasticity and become thin. As gravity begins to take its toll, the skin starts to sag, forming wrinkles, folds, and lines. Belotero helps replenish the missing hyaluronic acid, which can restore skin to a younger, more rejuvenated appearance.
Belotero is injected in the desired treatment area with a fine needle just like other dermal fillers. Patients will feel a needle prick as the filler is being injected. Most patients report little to no discomfort. You may request a topical anesthetic if you are sensitive to needles.
Treatments are usually less than 20 minutes and require no downtime. You may notice minor swelling or redness near the treatment site. This should go away within a couple of days.
Results from Belotero can be seen immediately and will begin to gradually wear off after six months. Patients can schedule treatments every 6 to 12 months to maintain results.
