Dr. Shaun Patel is a Harvard-trained physician and respected aesthetic physician at Miami Skin and Vein. His clinical interest and research focus is in the use of injectable and energy based (i.e. laser and light) technology to improve facial aesthetics. Known for his expertise in facial anatomy and skin health, Dr. Patel blends science and artistry to deliver subtle, natural-looking results that reflect the person, not the procedure. Dr. Patel graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami. After being accepted into the University’s prestigious Medical Scholars Program, Dr. Patel received his medical education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors. He completed residency training in Radiology at New York University. During his fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, he developed an interest in minimally invasive laser and injectable aesthetic treatments.
Shortly after completing fellowship, Dr. Patel opened Miami Skin and Vein. Dr. Patel’s goal is to provide world-class facial aesthetic medicine services to patients in South Florida.
Dr. Patel is a highly trained injector, having been recognized as being in the Top 1% by Galderma, the makers of Dysport, Restylane, and Sculptra. Dr. Patel is a national trainer for Galderma as a part of the Galderma Aesthetic Injector Network (GAIN) faculty. He routinely trains other physicians on the use of Dysport and fillers both at his office in Miami and across the country. He has been invited to lecture on his techniques at The Aesthetic Show in Las Vegas. He has also taken part in national and international medical advisory boards focused on aesthetic medicine and the use of neuromodulators and dermal fillers.
Dr. Patel believes in a panfacial approach when it comes to addressing the aging face. His multistep approach involves softening lines and wrinkles with neurotoxin, addressing static lines and volume loss with dermal fillers, conditioning the skin and restoring lost volume using biostimulators like Sculptra, and improving skin tone and texture using a variety of treatments, including topical skin care products, prescription medications (Tazorac, Retin-A, hydroquinone), superficial chemical peels, skin resurfacing lasers, vascular lasers, and Thermage. He commonly uses multiple treatment modalities – including injectables and lasers – to address a patient’s cosmetic concerns.
Dr. Patel is a proud member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Patel’s clinical interests include BOTOX and filler injections, lasers and other energy-based skin treatments, skin tightening, skin resurfacing, microneedling, acne scars, rosacea, and melasma.
