Top 10 Uses of Botox Cosmetic on the Aging Face

Botox is safe when performed by experienced physicians according to recent study.

A recent article in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) shows that noninvasive and minimally invasive cosmetic dermatology procedures are safe when performed by experienced providers. These procedures include Botox, Juvederm or other dermal fillers such as Belotero, Restylane and Perlane, and laser skin treatments such as Clear + Brilliant. While we have known for decades that Botox is safe, this study just confirms it. Researchers examined the results of over 20,000 procedures performed by 23 physicians over the course of 3 months and at 8 different skin care clinics. They found that there were no major complications. Less than one percent of patients had a minor complication such as bruising or swelling.

Dr. Shaun Patel has performed thousands of these skin and vein treatments and see hundreds of patients each month in his state of the art clinic in Coral Gables and Miami. If you have been considering Botox or Juvederm for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, a laser skin treatment for sun damage or hyperpigmentation, or laser sclerotherapy for spider veins but have been worried about the risk of side effects, come in for a consultation and to discuss the results of this study.
